[Letter] May 4,1888,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]
May 4, 1888, Smith College.
Dear Mr. Giddings,
I hope this will
find you at home, safe,
and improved by the
trip. I have learned that
the children have not
been the worse off for
the attack of measles.
I had a pleasant
evening with Mr. Dennison
this week. The meeting
was ( ) thinly attended,
but the discussion
was lively, Miss. Hotchkiss
and Biddle both being
present. I will tell you
about it when we meet.
I rather want your
judgment on the last
section of my "Capital"
monograph, if the subject
be not by this time a
bore. Will there be an
hour say on Tuesday when
your often tried patience
will be in a state of
readiness to be thus disciplined ? Dr. Ely
wants the Mss. at once, if he can have
it, in order to issue it this spring.
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
