May 15, 1888, Smith College.

Dear Mr. Giddings.
     Mr.Biddle paid his
R.R. fare, and spent
his time with me. Mr.
 Hotchkiss insisted on
paying R.R. fare, but,
allowed me to pay his
hotel bill $2.75, which
is all I paid for the
association. So our Mr.
[Joseph H.] Walker is going to Congress!
