[Letter] June 19,1888,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings], [Dated July, but apparently June]
June 19, 1888, Smith College. [Dated July, but apparently
June]
Dear Mr. Giddings.
I am delighted with
the situation, and hope
much that a better thing
will come to you through
Union College than nearly
came through Wesleyan.
Very many thanks for
your good words concerning
'Capital'. It may interest
you to know that a
letter just rec'd from
Prof. Hadley speaks
in a somewhat collective
way of this monograph
and our book on Distribution,
and says some exceedingly
pleasant things about them
all.
May good fortune
attend the Union College
visit.
I hope to see you before
going to the mountains. Perhaps
some day I will mount
my little steel [Bucephalas?]
and call on you. I would like it still
better however, if you could take an
off day and come here. Among other
things we need to arrange for our
Sept. meeting. I have told Dr. Ely that
we are to invite the general
association.
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
