[Letter] May 29,1889,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]
May 29, 1889, Smith College.
Dear Friend,
Thanks for
invitation to graduating
exercises at Bryn Mawr.
I wish I could come. I
wish you could come
here.
I believe your
plan contemplates reading
German in the vacation.
Is Wieser's Natürliche
Werth one of the books you
would like to read? If so
would you like to send a
notice of it to the Pol. Sci.
Quarterly? Do not say yes
unless you really would
like to do it. I think it
tends to establish pleasant
relations with authors. If you
would like to do it I will send
the book. I have too many
on hand, i.e. Gide, Wieser
and Zukerkandl. I wholly
agree with you about Gide!
The book is excellent though
not strikingly original.
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
