[Letter] June 5,1889,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]

June 5, 1889, Smith College.

Dear Friend,
        Did I write to
you about the papers in
( ) Law? I had in
mind to do it, but am
not sure I carried out
the intention. They are
all right, in so far as I
can see. For an exam.
following a term in which
some tests in the way
of recitation have already
been applied, I would not
make then harder nor
easier. Of course the case
of passing the exam. depends
on the emphasis laid
in the course of instruction
on these particular points.
If they were dwelt on at
much length the test of the
exam. would not be a
difficult one.
 I should have mentioned
that Dr. Seligman heartily
approves of your reviewing
Wieser. If the work troubles
you do not fail to let me
know. I do not think his
style is as clear as B. Bawerk's.
That, however, could be said of any
German author I ever read, at least of
any scientific one. Bohm B. is a
marvel in point of style. By the way
I have a very pleasant letter from him
about my Philosophy of Value, which
has lately come to his knowledge.

          Yours Very Truly,
                J. B. Clark

P.S.
I expect to attend meeting of a new Nationalist Club at
Springfield today.
