[Letter] July 5,1889,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]
July 5, 1889, Smith College.
Dear Friend,
I do not now
expect to go to Keene
Valley much before the
25-30th inst.
I hope we may go together.
Can you not get a
second hand safety bicycle,
use it in going with
me to () and sell
it in the autumn?
Prof.[Germany?]'s is
for sale at Amherst
at $80.00. It is
about as good as
new. It is a sparkbrook
machine, made in
Coventry, England.
I might be able to
buy it for $60.00 in
the Fall, if no better
sale were made; though
of that I am not quite
certain. I shall need
one before very long for
my boys. They are
relatively cheaper in Fall
than in Summer.
$20.00 for a season's
riding would not be
bad. All this
suggestion is for what
it is worth.
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
