[Letter] April 1.1890,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]

April 1, 1890, Smith College.

Dear Friend,
     The Harvard men
say "yes, send the paper
but the July No. is pretty
full." It would probably
go till Oct. I infer that
you will send sample
copies to a considerable
list of American and foreign
economists. If so you will
reach the men that I care
about, and I will, with
much pleasure, send the
paper or, what is
perhaps better, the part
about the Wage and
interest law, omitting
the rent and the profits
part. I could, if there
is time for it, make the
treatment of wages and
interest more complete
that it now is.
 Prof. James wrote
to me about the council.
I have joined the Academy.
Could you merge in it
the enterprise of Rev. J. C.
Brooks for a revived Social Science
Congress or Association? His project is
in the same class with yours. He wants
a translation and publication fund, and
is getting it by the same means that you
are using. It would be good economy
to capture him and his enterprise, would
it not?

        Yours Very Truly,
              J. B. Clark
