[Letter] April 17,1890,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]
April 17, 1890, Smith College.
Dear Friend,
As I said the pages
of my old draft of Wage
article could not be used.
The matter had to be
taken out of the draft
in a way that was not
consecutive - pages from
different parts, in changed
order etc. The work was
done in too much haste
and I am not satisfied
with the result. If you
think it too much of a
jumble, or too incomplete
or too anything to be
good kindly act as a
friend first of all and
keep it out of print. I
think I can insert a
very little matter in the
proof, without changing
any, or much of any,
in a way that will
remove the chief
difficulty that I think of.
Possibly I can even make
it generally stronger by comparatively
little direct insertions of new matter.
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
