[Letter] June 5,1890,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]
June 5, 1890, Smith College.
Dear Friend,
Good enough!
Your suggestion hits the
nail squarely. By all
means put it into our
symposium. It will
incidentally clear up Mr.
Hadley's ideas a little; but
the main thing is its
service as an instrument
for compelling exactness
of thought.
Can you not come
and have a bit of a
seminar - Political
Economy + hill tramping
+ general recreating
before we pack up our
duds? We have been
planning to vacate the
premises early in July
i.e. perhaps July 1st.
Our commencement
occurs as per cards.
Can you not take that
in ? If not come for
a good visit as early as
possible, I suppose
Mrs. Giddings and the children
would, perhaps, hardly care to make
such a preliminary trip to Northampton.
We want to see them also before we
go.
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
