[Letter] April 20,1891,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]

April 20, 1891, Smith College.

Dear Friend,
      We reached home
on Saturday (18th) at
midnight, having been
absent for four weeks.
I found your letter here.
Thanks for it. I want to
read the draft carefully
and to comment on it
later. Just now all
is hubbub - table
full of exam papers, etc.
Now I will only write
an acknowledgment of
the valued letter and
draft and proceed to
preach. The text is
Herbert Spencer's
remark on 'The Gospel
of Relaxation'. I have
myself been exemplary
of late, having taken
an absolute rest for
four weeks. "Go thou
and do likewise." We
cannot afford to let
you follow Patten's
example; No more
can Patten safely
follow his own. Be
a good fellow and
rest thoroughly.

    Yours Very Truly
         J. B. Clark
