[Letter] February 11.1892,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]
February 11, 1892, Smith College.
Dear Friend,
Would you
think of going to Europe
this summer? My
wife and I are seriously
considering it. If we can
arrange for the children
in a way that really
satisfies us I think
we shall go. I am in
doubt about the
arrangements that it
may be possible to make
for the children. If
we go nothing could
add more to our
pleasure than to have
you and Mrs. Giddings
go also. If Mrs. Giddings
feels tied to the children
would you think of
going? I will say that
we should want to go
on an inexpensive
scale.
I meant to have
written and sent to you
a statement of the rent theory of wages
and interest covering the points that are
talked of. Class room work and
Amherst lectures have interfered. I am
about to have this part written out from
dictation and will send you the
copy when I get it, if it will not
claim time that is already crowded.
I receive inquiries about our definition
work. Is Stein getting on? Ought we not to
have it done by some one for the August meeting?
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
