[Letter] April 28,1892,Smith College [to F.H. Giddings]
April 28, 1892, Smith College.
Dear Friend,
Will you not
let me put you in
the program of the
morning devoted to
a discussion of economic
theory at the Econ. Asso'n
meeting? Patten and
I are the others thus
far secured. I wrote
for a paper, you remember,
and got a negative
from you, on good grounds;
but this is to be
off hand talk entirely.
Patten is to talk on
the interpretation of
Ricardo, and I on
the Ultimate Standard
of Value.
Patten's talk will
be on value largely,
and this is a point
that you have completely
on hand. We want
more large lights in the
list for the good of the
association.
Yours Very Truly,
J. B. Clark
You see the
theory trust should be
complete. It will not do
to have it smash on the
first public occasion like
the baser trusts of this world.
Let the whole trio present
a united front.
