[Letter] Jan.9,1893,Northampton [to F.H. Giddings]

Jan. 9, 1893, Northampton.

Dear Friend,
       Professor Gide
expresses the view that it
is singular that our
association has not issued
some treatise on the
Homestead Affair. Is
anything covering the
ground in contemplation?
A scientific view of the
occurrence, based on carefully
collected facts would
reach a large public,
and put money into the
treasury. It would tend
to popularize our work,
enlarge membership, etc.
What think you?
 I suppose I am right
in thinking that nothing
authoritative has appeared.
Has any committee of
Congress made a report?

       Yours Very Truly,
            J. B. Clark
