[Letter] August 15,1894,Amherst [to F.H. Giddings]

August 15, 1894, Amherst.

Dear Friend:
       Now that
you are in Mass. Will
you not all come
to us for a visit?
We are nicely settled
and it would do us
a world of good to
have you here a while.
In truth we are in
the homesick stage
and need our friends.
As for me personally
I am more than
usually in need of
friends, for one whom
I thought of as
altogether a friend
has just given me
a stab that hurts
very seriously. I will
tell you all about
it at sometime.
In the meanwhile
a few rides and tramps
with you among these
hills would do us all
a lot of good.
If you can come to see us
and have the visit do not
fail to give us the pleasure.

      Yours Very Truly,
         John B. Clark

Mrs. Clark sends love to Mrs. Giddings
and joins very heartily in this
invitation.
