[Letter] October 12,[1894],[Baltimore] [to F.H. Giddings]
October 12, [1894], [Baltimore]
Dear Friend:
I have the
little book on Sociology,
and it is by Simmel.
Doubtless you know
the man and the
book.
I am personally
thankful and just a
little officially wrathful.
The Bankers Association
gave a big banquet in
the Mccoy Hall of the
University, invited 1200
persons, among whom
were a lot of university
people, and left the
present lecturer on
Economics out. Thus
am I here kept
duly 'invisible', which
is personally good for me,
doubtless. Only in case
some university official
made out the list has
the matter any significance.
In a concrete way banking
and economics don't
seem to mix.
Yours Very Truly,
John B. Clark
