Dear Friend:
        Will you
kindly send me the
name of the hotel on
81st Street and the line of
the elevated road, where
Miss Smith used to live?
I hit, thus far, on no
rooms with board at
less than about 3.00
per day, though I have
written in a considerable
number of directions.
I fancy by getting one
large unfurnished
room at this hotel,
and boarding at a
restaurant in the building
I can lower this figure at least.
 I hope all is
still well with you.
I start for Amherst
after one more day
here, so that it will be
best to direct a letter
there.
