[S.N. Patten's letter] April 25,1895,Philadelphia [to F.H. Giddings]
April 25, 1895, Philadelphia.
Dear Giddings,
I send with this
one of my pictures. I believe
you said that you had none.
I am not going to Boston
this spring as I planned.
John G. Brooks did not
get his club to invite
me as he hoped they would.
They have postponed action
until fall.
I think our troubles have
been adjusted for the year
at least and perhaps a
permanent settlement has
been reached.
This spring has been a
terror however and I
hope I have not to live
through another such a
period.
In spite of all this I have
made some headway with
my new essay and if I
can find a good working
place this summer I shall
have it ready by fall.
I hope that your 1000 words
a day will hold out so that
students of sociology may have
some definite guide for their
work next year.
Best wishes to Mrs. Giddings
and other friends.
Sincerely Yours ,
Simon N. Patten
