My dear Sir
I was sorry to
find you engaged
when I called on you
in the City the afer
noon previous to my
being examined before
the Int. Coinage Comer
I had only an hour to
spare in the whole
afternoon so I could
not call again.
I am now preparing
a short paper on the
subject of International
Coinage in order to lay
this question before our
Statistical Society next
Wednesday. I mentioned
the support you give to
the news of the Convention
& the Secretary said they
would send you an invitaion.
If you could spare time
to come down it would
be a great favour to our
Society which as you
perhaps know is the
parent society of the
London Stat. Soc.
I should hope also
that you would favor
me by staying here
if you can find time
fora visit; a bed will
be ready for you.
If you could exhibit
to the members the
proposed international
Com which you showed
me, it might give them
a better notion of what
was proposed.
Our meetings are usally
reported pretty fully
by the three Manr news
paper which circulate
over the Middle & North
of England.
Yours faithfully
W. S. Jevons
