    Dear Sir,
     　 Your mote gave me 
much pleasure. I have 
written to Professor Leslie 
who will, I have no doubt, 
send his article to you 
immediately. It will 
probably suit me best to 
publish the first instalment 
of mine in the July number, 
but of this I shall be able 
to speak more positively 
some time hence. I presume 
you will have published 
the last (for the present) of
 my friend Professor Bain’s 
series of articles long before 
that time. I should not like 
mine to interfere with his.
