My dear Senior
   In my note to you the 
other day I omitted to mention 
what my friend Bain 
is a candidate for. He
offers himself for any chair 
of Moral or Mental 
Philosophy or Logic in 
any of the new colleges: 
In any branch, in fact, 
of Mental Science. And 
in truth no one can be 
competent to teach any 
of the branches who
could not if needful 
undertake any other.
