[Letter] 1866 Oct. 2, Avignon [to] Mrs. F. Malleson
Avignon
Oct. 2. 1866
Dear Madam
I wish every possible
success to the Working Women's
College; but, independently of
my absence from England, it
would be quite incompatible
with other very pressing occupations
for me to attend and take
part in the proceedings at
the Meeting on the 19th; much
more to prepare so important
a thing as an inaugural address.
Regretting my inability to give a
more satisfactory answer, I am,
Dear Madam
very truly yours
J.S. Mill
Mrs F. Malleson.
